Such facilities must be adapted to the needs of residents, and sometimes adapting existing buildings often turns out to be too expensive. Solution? Modular nursing home. A facility made using modular frame technology can be built in a few months and meets all standards, including being ecological and energy-saving.

Modular nursing homes – why is it worth investing in them?

The demand for nursing homes will increase in the coming years. The reason is simple - an aging society. Modular care homes are a response to the changing demographic structure. The modular houses built at the Unihouse factory are fully adapted to modern requirements - they are free from architectural barriers and equipped with an elevator adapted to the needs of people with disabilities and a fire alarm system. Modular sanatoriums can offer both single and multi-person rooms, and are also available in various finishing standards.

    Wood is a natural, environmentally friendly material that favourably contributes to the thermal and acoustic performance of building envelopes (walls, ceilings, roof) and to the functional comfort of buildings, such as the microclimate and functional safety. The cumulative energy intensity of wood compares very favourably with concrete and steel.

    A major advantage of timber structures is their lightness, which contributes to a reduction in the dimensions of the structure, e.g. foundations, and their prefabrication, i.e. the factory manufacture of the components and transport to the construction site, and there rapid assembly. In addition, wooden buildings are easy to convert and modernise and are amenable to demolition and disposal.

Quick construction time of a modern modular nursing home

Individual modules are manufactured in controlled conditions - in the Unihouse factory. They are then transported to the construction site where they are assembled. Currently, frame technology in a modular system allows you to build a modular nursing home that will have up to 8 floors in the architectural form indicated by the investor. And all this in just a few months. It is the pace of construction of buildings from modules and the many possibilities that are the features of modular construction that are most appreciated by investors.
Modular sanatoriums are equipped with all necessary installations - they are assembled at the Unihouse factory. This means that it is no longer necessary to carry out work in this area on the construction site, and the modules can also be connected in winter - however, it is necessary to prepare the foundations in advance. At the same time, a modular nursing home - just like a modular hotel - is equipped with a number of modern solutions and meets current standards in the field of, among others: acoustics.

Although nursing homes must meet the technical requirements for such facilities, they may differ, among others: architectural form and equipment. Unihouse modular care homes are individually designed, thanks to which they are tailored to the expectations of investors and their business model. Because individual modules are finished turnkey, they can be used immediately after work on the construction site is completed. The period from placing the modules on the foundation to welcoming the first residents may therefore be several days.

Potential projects using the modular construction technology

Using the modules produced in Bielsk Podlaski, we can construct not only residential buildings, but also office buildings, hotels, dormitories, kindergartens, schools, outpatient clinics, etc.

Potential projects using the module building technology

Multi-family houses

Thanks to the timber frame technology used in the modular system, we can also construct cosy and durable multi-family houses. These buildings are created with the use of technologies provided by UNIHOUSE, have high thermal insulation, and do not require the installation of central heating.

By using modern thermal insulation materials, the cost of electrical heating in modular houses is much lower than in the case of traditional brick buildings.

Another advantage of wooden modular housing is the warm and resident-friendly, interior atmosphere, which positively affects the living environment. UNIHOUSE buildings meet every global standard related to acoustic insulation, ecology and tightness.

Examples of arrangements

The modules are assembled and finished in the factory, even being equipped with lighting, bathroom and kitchen furniture, as well as sanitary fixtures and household appliances. Modules can be up to 14m long and 4.2m wide. A single module can be used as a separate, small flat. In the case when a larger area is required, between 1.5 and 2 modules can be combined.

Modular hotels

The technologies provided by UNIHOUSE are successfully used by investors for the purposes of establishing hotels, motels, catering outlets and service-related buildings. Modular buildings are practically predisposed to be used as cheap and economic motels.

The primary advantage for investors in the case of these buildings is the short completion time of the projects. By moving the entire production process into the factory, the construction of a motel, with many rooms is only a matter of days. As single modules can be combined, it is possible to arrange rooms for a higher numbers of guests.

In the case of the aforementioned arrangements, the rooms can be accessed from an external hallway running the length of the motel, which is a common solution for this type of building.

Perfect thermal insulation means that electric radiators will suffice to keep the place warm. They can then be turned off when the guests are out of their rooms to help lower operating costs even further.
