On 5 February 2019, Unibep SA from Bielsk Podlaski signed a contract for the implementation of the Saffransgatan housing project, with the value of approximately PLN 17.2 million excluding VAT. This is another project of the company from Podlasie to be carried out in Sweden.
According to the agreement, Unihouse Branch of Unibep SA will design and construct a turnkey building with five above-ground storeys, which will house 34 apartments in total. The investment will be implemented in the Unihouse technology, based on prefabricated timber-frame modules. The completion of the construction is scheduled for the first quarter of 2020. The investor is a Swedish public developer, Göteborgs Egnahems AB with its registered office in Göteborg.
The Saffransgatan building is the next project to be carried out in Sweden on the basis of Unihouse’s own modular production after Kantorn 2 project in Tumba (Botkyrka municipality). In the case of the Saffransgatan project, the Polish company will perform all the implementation works including the design, foundation and earthworks.
Unibep S.A. won the Swedish public tender by offering a residential building at a competitive price and quality. The design was prepared in accordance with the applicable building regulations in Sweden BBR, and the General Conditions of Contract ABT 06.
Unibep SA is the second foreign company from Central and Eastern Europe that has recently won a significant housing project in Göteborg in the General Contractor delivery method.
- We are happy that we will be performing building works again in Sweden. We have already gained our first experiences on this market, but each new project poses a big challenge and is also a chance to show the potential of the Unibep Group - says Roman Jakubowski, director of the Unihouse Branch.
In 2018 Unibep expanded its factory of modular houses in Bielsk Podlaski, which enabled a doubling of its annual production capacity from 1000 to 2000 modules per year. The purpose of this initiative was, among others, the development of its activity on the Scandinavian market.
