At Unihouse, we focus on substantive dialogue, especially on issues related to systemic changes in the Polish construction industry.
On the first day of 4 Design Days, Marcin Gołębiewski, President of the Management Board of Unihouse, together with Robert Konieczny, Paweł Fryc, Wojciech Sawiński and Grzegorz Tomaszewski, took part in the debate ‘Sustainable Construction Talks by Saint-Gobain. The future of housing policy in Poland – pros and cons’.
During the panel moderated by Przemysław Białkowski, the participants discussed, among other things, the possibilities of increasing the availability of housing and raising standards with an emphasis on the comfort and quality of life of residents. As President Marcin Gołębiewski emphasised:
"We focus on multi-family housing, which is a sector that is mainly found in cities. The city itself is a fabric that brings together different people, different organisations, different professions, different needs and different activities. In my opinion, each of these people should have equal rights to rest, to housing and to a certain level of comfort. Our company, Unihouse, supplies rental buildings (municipal buildings, buildings for social housing associations, Simos, and foreign institutions) throughout Europe – Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Germany – which do not differ in standard from so-called developer buildings."
On the second day of 4 Design Days, Miłosz Konieczny, key account advisor, took part in the panel ‘Prefabrication and modular construction’, devoted to the questions: Faster, cheaper or smarter? How is prefabrication changing the way we think about investments and urban space?
The panel was moderated by Dorota Bartosz (PLGBC), and the discussion was also attended by: Roman Jakubowski – owner of RJ Konsulting, Kamil Raczak – BIM Manager at BBGK Architekci, Piotr Wereski – PREFAB Systems Development Manager at Saint-Gobain in Poland.
The panel showed that prefabrication is not only about speed and cost optimisation, but above all a way to implement investments wisely – with precision, predictability and high standards of workmanship. The discussion emphasised that modular construction allows urban space to be planned in a thoughtful, effective and environmentally friendly way.
We would like to thank the organisers of 4 Design Days, the debate partners and all panellists and participants for their substantive discussions and exchange of experiences. See you next year.
