Safety Week 2025

🛠️🚧 EVERYTHING'S OK, #GOOD 🚧🛠️ - 11th Edition of Unihouse Safety Week

The 11th edition of Unihouse Safety Week took place from 13-17 May 2024, with this year's slogan: 🛠️🚧 EVERYTHING'S OK, #GARNED 🚧🛠️. It was a week full of activities to raise awareness and improve safety standards in our company.

Some of our initiatives included:

  • Short health and back exercises led by a health and safety officer
  • Periodic health and safety review of first aid kits, ladders and the entire factory
  • Trial evacuation of the prefabrication hall
  • Training in the use of fire extinguishers

Each of these activities was aimed at ensuring that our working environment is as safe as possible and that all employees are well prepared to deal with emergency situations. Let's see exactly how these activities went and what benefits they brought to our company.

Exercise exercises for health and better wellbeing.

During Safety Week, for five days, every day at 10 a.m., our Health and Safety Officer, Anna Warszycka, led short exercises for health and better wellbeing. These five-minute sessions were aimed at improving the concentration and overall physical fitness of our employees.

We would like to encourage everyone to continue exercising every day, not only as part of Safety Week. These short bursts of physical activity can bring significant benefits - better focus, more energy and a perceived improvement in wellbeing.

Let's remember that looking after our health is an investment in our effectiveness and wellbeing every day

Periodic Factory Inspection

As part of Safety Week, we carried out a periodic inspection of the entire Unihouse factory. We inspected the traffic routes to ensure they were clear of obstructions and appropriately signposted, which is crucial for quick and safe evacuation in the event of an emergency. The inspector, along with the managers, checked the equipment of the workers and rpacy areas to ensure that everyone had the correct protective equipment. The review also covered waste storage areas, signage and cabinets for hazardous items to ensure they are properly stored and minimise the risk of accidents.

Regular factory reviews are essential to maintain the highest standards of safety and health protection for our employees.

Periodic inspection of ladders

The safety of working at heights is equally important, so we carried out a thorough inspection of all ladders used in the factory. We checked their stability, technical condition and compliance with applicable health and safety standards. Each ladder has been carefully assessed for any damage or wear and tear, allowing us to ensure that workers using these tools can do so safely. Regular inspections of ladders help to prevent accidents and improve working comfort.

Periodic inspection of first aid kits

As part of our safety efforts, we also carried out a periodic review of first aid kits. We checked that they were properly equipped and that the medical supplies in them had not exceeded their expiry date. We made sure that each first aid kit was easily accessible and well labelled, so that employees could quickly find the necessary first aid supplies when needed. Regular review of first aid kits is a key part of keeping all employees healthy and safe.

Unihouse Factory Evacuation Rehearsal

On Friday, 17 May, as part of Safety Week, a trial evacuation took place at our Unihouse factory. The scenario was that smoke was noticed on the prefabrication hall. The reaction was immediate - the line manager loudly shouted ‘Fire, it's on fire, evacuate!’, followed immediately by the notification of the fire brigade.

All employees, from both the hall and the first floor offices, were efficiently evacuated to the designated assembly points.

The fire brigade arrived very quickly, ready for action. One of our managers led the firefighters to the smoke area so that they could get the situation under control as quickly as possible.

Once the smoke had been brought under control, the health and safety officer reported that two workers had not arrived at the assembly point. Fortunately, after a brief search operation, the two were found safely.

This trial evacuation was a key part of our Safety Week. It allowed us to check that everyone was able to communicate properly in the event of an emergency, that staff knew how to behave and where to go to the assembly point, and that those responsible for the evacuation knew all the procedures.

We are pleased that the whole operation went smoothly and safely. We thank everyone for their commitment and professionalism. This type of exercise is essential so that we can be sure that in the event of a real emergency, everyone will know what to do.

Let's remember that safety is a priority and regular evacuation drills are key to ensuring the protection of all Unihouse employees.

Fire extinguisher training

During Safety Week at Unihouse, one of the key events was a training session on the use of fire extinguishers, delivered by firefighters from the Bielsko Podlaskie District Fire Station. Employees had the opportunity to learn how to use different types of fire extinguishers correctly and effectively in the event of a fire. The training included both theory and practice, giving all participants the opportunity to test their skills under controlled conditions. The firefighters prepared a special hearth where participants could practise fire extinguishing safely. This kind of training is extremely important so that, in an emergency situation, everyone knows how to respond appropriately and minimise the risks.

This year's Unihouse Safety Week was packed with key initiatives to strengthen our safety culture. Firefighters from the Bielsk Podlaski District Fire Station conducted fire extinguisher training, where employees practised putting out a fire on a prepared hearth. We also carried out a periodic health and safety review of first aid kits, ladders and the entire factory to ensure that all these elements met the highest safety standards. Through these activities, we were able to confirm that our working environment is safe and well-prepared for a variety of emergencies, demonstrating that EVERYTHING IS OK, #GOOD.
