Modular police stations

[arrow-down]

Public facilities are often located in old buildings that require modernization. Since carrying out the necessary work involves a high cost and the plot may have significant commercial value, investors often look for an alternative. It may be modular construction. Modular police stations are a modern and cost-effective solution. Sounds attractive? Find out more

Modular police stations – what are their characteristics?

Modular police stations offered by Unihouse are compact and functional buildings that can be adapted to the size and shape of the plot. This is especially important when the facility is to be built in a densely built-up part of the city or in intensively developed suburban areas, where the limitation is poorly developed road infrastructure. At the same time - unlike buildings made using traditional technology - modular police stations can be easily expanded. If necessary, all you need to do is add additional modules. The work can be carried out quickly - without disorganizing the work of the police station.

Modular construction has many advantages. Firstly, objects are created in a short time. Unihouse modular police stations are built very quickly due to their simple shape. Secondly, just like modular military barracks, the latest technologies are used in their production. In practice, this means that individual modules are manufactured in the factory and connected on the construction site. The result is also a reduction in errors at the construction stage, which translates into high-quality buildings that can be used for many years.

The modular post is multifunctional - the design prepared by Unihouse may include the construction of, among others: the following rooms:

  • utility rooms of various types;
  • offices with a varied number of workstations;
  • hygiene and sanitary rooms;
  • garages for police cars;
  • cloakrooms where employees can leave their personal belongings.

    A major advantage of timber structures is their lightness, which contributes to a reduction in the dimensions of the structure, e.g. foundations, and their prefabrication, i.e. the factory manufacture of the components and transport to the construction site, and there rapid assembly. Modular construction is synonymous with modern technology and precision workmanship. It allows the realisation of the most sophisticated ideas, while maintaining the intended function enclosed in individual blocks. A modern and economical investment - a modular outpost

New buildings are not only good to live in, but also to work well. This is due to the use of new technologies, including equipping buildings with the latest solutions. Unihouse modular police stations ensure comfort for employees and additionally have a favorable microclimate. But it is not everything. The modules from which modular outposts are made are turnkey, and the cost-quality ratio is very favorable. This is important information not only for employees, but also for investors who need to allocate funds within often tight budgets.

The modular outpost is also cheap to maintain. Operating costs are lower than in traditional construction - especially compared to facilities that have not undergone thermal modernization. This is the result of the materials used and energy-saving solutions. From the investors' perspective, this is very good news - the costs of building such a public facility may be recovered in the next few years, because due to its good thermal insulation, the building can only be heated with electric heaters. At the same time, it means more funds for other tasks or investments.

Modular schools

Modular schools

[arrow-down]

Many schools struggle with the same problem - insufficient number of classrooms. As a result, educational institutions are unable to offer students the most advantageous, i.e. single-shift learning mode. How to solve this problem in a short time? Modular construction comes to the rescue. Modular schools are distinguished by a favorable microclimate, high standard, fire safety and low operating costs.

Modular school – how does it differ from a traditional one?

At least a few differences can be identified between a school built using modular and traditional technology. From the perspective of local government units that are obliged to maintain educational institutions, operating costs are key. In this respect, modular schools fare better than brick schools.

The modular school, like the modular kindergarten, is built from ecological materials - Unihouse uses, among others, wood and mineral wool. The use of modern technologies and very good insulation mean that the design of a modular educational facility does not require the installation of a furnace or connection to the central heating network - to ensure thermal comfort for the facility's users, it is enough to install electric heating. The result is low maintenance costs over a lifetime of at least 50 years.

Although there are many differences between modular and traditional schools, they also have one thing in common - they meet global sanitary, acoustic insulation and fire safety standards. This makes learning in educational institutions created from modules comfortable and safe. An additional advantage is the favorable, health-promoting microclimate in the modular school - this is the result of the technology and ecological materials used by Unihouse.

Quick implementation and low cost of building a modular school

Modular school buildings can be built even within a few months from the start of design work, which is impossible in the case of classic methods of constructing buildings. Speed of implementation is another difference between modular and traditional technology. The reason is the use of modules - they are manufactured in the factory and then connected at the construction site. This means even fewer errors because individual modules are created in a controlled environment.

A modular school can be:

  • expanded without disturbing the learning process - combining modules can be carried out during the summer break; it is also possible to expand the school built using classic technology;
  • moved from place to place - in the event of changes to the spatial development plan, it is possible to transport the modules to another plot;
  • partially dismantled - if the number of students decreases, it is possible to dismantle unnecessary modules, which reduces operating costs.

Price is also important for local government units. Modular schools are offered at attractive prices, considering that the modules transported to the construction site are equipped with the necessary installations and furnished. As a manufacturer of modular schools, Unihouse offers solutions tailored to the investor's budget.

    Modular employee hotels

    [arrow-down]

    Large enterprises, construction companies and temporary employment agencies often employ thousands of employees for whom they must provide appropriate housing conditions. Solution? Unihouse modular employee hotels. The use of frame technology in a modular system allows you to quickly create comfortable and durable buildings at an attractive price and with low operating costs.

    Modular employee hotel – what makes it stand out?

    Modular hotels for employees – just like modular hotels and campuses – are built in a factory. The automated production process used by Unihouse allows for repeatability and high quality of manufactured residential modules. By moving the construction process to the factory, weather conditions on the construction site do not matter much. But that's not all. Another advantage of modular hotels for employees is their low maintenance costs, including heating costs - this is the result of the thermal insulation used.

    Modular hotels for employees offered by Unihouse can be built on various plots - including those with little space, e.g. narrow and long ones. If it is necessary to increase the number of employee accommodations, the modular employee hotel can be expanded or added. It is also possible to dismantle individual modules and transport them to another place, e.g. to areas near another plant. This is what makes Unihouse modular employee hotels an attractive solution.

    Other benefits of modular employee hotels:

    • fire safety - although the modular employee hotel has a wooden frame, it is properly protected against fire;
    • year-round use – modular employee hotels are designed for use all year round, not just seasonally;
    • turnkey finishing - the investor does not have to furnish individual rooms, so the accommodation can be used immediately.

    Short construction time of a modular employee hotel

    From the investors' perspective, the investment implementation time is crucial. The Unihouse modular employee hotel is being built in a much shorter time than employee accommodation implemented using traditional technology. This is particularly important for enterprises that, for example, are increasing production capacity and - due to the shortage of employees on the local market - must provide accommodation to people coming from other parts of the country or even abroad. Modular employee hotels can be built in just a few months and be used immediately after completion of work on the construction site.

    Although modular hotels for Unihouse employees are built much faster than buildings using traditional technologies, they are fully functional and tailored to the client's needs - the project is created in cooperation with the investor. For companies that pay particular attention to the implementation of ESG strategies, the ecological technology used by Unihouse is also important. The use of natural and ecological raw materials (especially wood) allows us to reduce CO2 emissions. But it is not everything. The automated module production process also means a minimum amount of production waste.

    Buildings that accommodate young children should be safe and comfortable. From the investor's perspective, price is also important - low running costs are desirable. Unihouse modular kindergartens are the answer to the needs of both users and investors. But that is not all. Find out why else it is worth building kindergartens in a modular system.

    Modular kindergarten - advantages of this solution

    Przedszkola modułowe powstają z przyjaznych Unihouse module environment - the main construction material is wood. The combination of this raw material with other materials (e.g. gypsum and mineral wool) results in modules with a favourable microclimate and the required parameters, which are then put together. In just a few months, a care and education building can be erected that meets fire safety standards and has good sound insulation. Each Unihouse modular nursery - like the Unihouse modular nurseries - also has a low energy requirement.

    The short construction period and the low cost of building a modular kindergarten in terms of both environment and operation are key advantages for investors. But they are not the only ones. A modular kindergarten:

    • can be extended, superstructure or relocated - it is therefore possible to adapt the building to the number of children using it;
    • is available as a turnkey option - all necessary installations are installed in the walls and floors of the modules, but the investor can also opt for a fully equipped building;

    it can be built on a plot of land with unusual dimensions or shape - which is particularly important if the modular kindergarten is to be built in a city centre.

    Spacious modular kindergartens for discerning investors

    In order for a modular kindergarten to be built, its design must first be carried out. The manufacturer, Unihouse, has its own design office. Each project is prepared on the basis of the investor's concept. Modular construction is so versatile that modular kindergartens or modular schools can be virtually any size (up to a maximum of eight storeys). Unihouse's portfolio includes modular kindergartens with a total area of approx. 800 sqm to approx. 1,420 sqm. - These buildings are suitable for the needs of 100 to as many as 200 children including staff.

    A good design of a modular kindergarten must take into account not only the expectations of the investor and future users, but also the technical requirements that are placed on such facilities (e.g. access control). Regardless of the size, each Unihouse modular kindergarten can have different zones, e.g. a cloakroom for the children, a playroom, bedrooms, bathrooms, social areas and utility rooms. It is also possible to create a kitchen area (when the nursery wants to dispense with catering) or a nurse's office.

    Energy-efficient modular kindergartens on offer from Unihouse!

    Each Unihouse modular kindergarten is an energy-saving facility. What does this mean in practice? Modern technology including the use of thermal insulation materials means that buildings have low energy demand. As a result, the design of a modular kindergarten does not have to include the construction of a boiler room or a connection to the heating network - the rooms can be heated using electric heaters. At the same time, the low energy demand means that the investor does not have to worry about the amount of operating fees - maintaining such a kindergarten is cheap.

    Are you wondering what the price of a modular kindergarten is? Contact us. The price of the design and construction of a building in the Unihouse modular system is always determined individually - there are many variables that influence the cost of the investment. If you have any questions about the modular construction available in our offer, please contact us - we will be happy to provide additional information, dispel any doubts and invite you to the next open days at the current construction site.

    Modular nurseries

    [arrow-down]

    Despite demographic changes, the demand for child day-care facilities, including crèches, is still high. A modular nursery can be built in just a few months. It also compares favourably with traditional construction methods: it is inexpensive to run, provides optimum comfort for users and is long-lasting. Find out more about modular nurseries.

    Modular nursery - what makes it different?

    As the name suggests, the distinguishing feature of Unihouse modular nurseries is their modular construction. The wooden modules that make up the finished building are made in the factory. At the production stage, each module is fitted with all the necessary installations, including electricity and ventilation. As a result, Unihouse modular nurseries are built more quickly than nurseries made using traditional technology. Once completed on site, the modules are invisible due to the installation of the façade. At the same time, the modular construction makes it possible, among other things, to relocate and easily extend the building.

    Although modular crèches differ from traditional construction, like crèches built using traditional technology, they can take any architectural form. However, this is not all. A modular nursery can be single-storey or have several floors - the technology used by Unihouse allows up to eight-storey buildings to be built. Modular buildings intended for the daytime stay of children (including modular schools) also meet all the standards envisaged for such facilities - they are fully safe.

    What else distinguishes a modular nursery:

    • The building is environmentally friendly - this is due to the use of ecological materials such as wood and mineral wool;
    • running costs are low - the design of a modular nursery does not need to include a boiler room, the rooms can be heated by electric radiators;
    • the building can be erected on virtually any terrain - also the size and shape of the plot of land is less important due to the size of the modules.

The designer can be sure that what he or she has conceived and created will be realised 100 per cent on the building site. This construction fulfils architects' dreams of the ideal module in architecture, as envisaged by Vitruvius or Le Corbusier.

    Comfortable and child-friendly modular nurseries - fast turnaround

    The construction of crèches using Unihouse technology means minimal production waste. Also, CO2 emissions are much lower than for traditional construction. In addition, the duration of the work is short - the construction time is about six months. Although time is of the essence for many builders, there are also additional benefits, such as user comfort. The individual modules are made of wood and other materials that create a favourable microclimate - the rooms have optimal temperature and humidity. At the same time:

    • modular nurseries - just like modular kindergartens - remain highly aesthetic;
    • the builder can opt for a turnkey finish option - so that the finished modular nursery can be used immediately after completion of the construction site.

    Modular hospitals and other medical buildings using modular technology

    We build for health protection and public medical infrastructure

    [arrow-down]

    Modular construction is the answer to the growing needs of the healthcare system. Modular hospitals and other medical facilities built using this technology allow for a rapid increase in the availability of medical infrastructure, while maintaining high standards of safety and functionality. Modular medical buildings are constructed in controlled factory conditions, which significantly reduces the time needed to complete the investment compared to traditional construction methods. Modular construction allows for the rapid construction of medical facilities, both in planned situations and in emergencies, such as the COVID-19 pandemic.

    Why modular construction in healthcare?

    Medical facilities built using modular technology respond to the most common challenges faced by public and private investors:

    • short completion time – the facility can be launched within a few months,
    • minimal disruption to hospital operations during extensions and superstructures,
    • high quality and safety thanks to prefabrication in factory conditions,
    • design flexibility – the possibility of phasing the investment and further expansion,
    • predictable costs at the implementation and operation stages.

    Hospitals, clinics and other medical facilities in modular technology

    Modular hospitals are an alternative to traditional medical construction, especially where completion time and the ability to respond quickly to the region's healthcare needs are crucial. Modular technology allows for the construction of facilities of various sizes and functions, tailored to local conditions and investment stages.

    Modular technology allows for any configuration of the functional layout – from single wings to complete hospital complexes.

    Modular medical facilities are built based on the stringent functional and sanitary requirements specific to the healthcare sector. Each project takes into account the specific nature of the planned activity – from basic outpatient care to highly specialised hospital wards. Modular solutions enable the precise design of communication routes, the separation of zones with varying degrees of cleanliness and the integration of medical installations.

    FAQ – frequently asked questions about modular medical facilities

    • What does the construction of medical facilities using modular technology involve?

      Modular construction involves prefabricating fully finished modules in a production plant and then assembling them on site. This means that a significant part of the work takes place off-site, which shortens the construction time and reduces disruption to existing medical facilities. Read more: Modular buildings

    • What medical facilities can be built using modular technology?

      Modular technology can be used to construct hospitals, hospital wards, clinics, specialist clinics, isolation wards, diagnostic and administrative facilities, and accommodation buildings for medical staff. The facilities can function as stand-alone buildings or as extensions to existing infrastructure.

    • Do modular medical buildings meet sanitary and technical requirements?

      Yes. The facilities designed and built by Unihouse comply with applicable building regulations, sanitary and fire safety requirements, and technical conditions specific to healthcare facilities. Each project is tailored to the medical function and investor's requirements.

    • How long does it take to complete a modular medical facility?

      The completion time is significantly shorter than in traditional construction and can range from several to over a dozen months, depending on the scale and complexity of the investment. Module production and preparatory work can be carried out simultaneously.

    • Is it possible to extend or add another storey to an existing hospital?

      Yes. Modular technology is particularly well suited to extensions and additions to existing medical facilities. The lightweight frame construction and prefabrication allow for reduced construction time on site and ensure continuity of hospital operations.

    • Are modular buildings a temporary solution?

      No. Modular medical buildings can serve both temporary and permanent functions. Their service life is comparable to that of traditional buildings, and their modular design allows for subsequent expansion, reconstruction or relocation.

    • Can the investment be carried out in stages?

      Yes. One of the key advantages of modular construction is the possibility of phasing the investment. This allows you to spread the financial outlay over time and gradually expand the medical infrastructure as needed.

    • How do modular buildings differ from container buildings?

      Modular buildings are characterised by a higher standard of use, better thermal and acoustic insulation, and durability. They are designed as fully-fledged buildings, not temporary solutions, which distinguishes them from classic container buildings.

    Modular construction allows for the rapid construction of temporary accommodation facilities, including modular hotels and dormitories. The result is comfortable, modern and energy-efficient rooms for different numbers of people. And all thanks to the technologies used by Unihouse. Find out more about modular hotels and modular campuses.

    Modular hotels - what sets them apart from traditional ones?

    The hotels and dormitories created from the modules - thanks to their energy efficiency - are adapted to the new energy realities. The technologies used by Unihouse mean that electric radiators, which can be switched off when no one is in the room, are sufficient to heat individual rooms. The result? A modular hotel, like a modular dormitory or a modular housing estate, is cheaper to maintain than a facility built using traditional technology. Minimising operating costs is a key issue for any investor - this has a direct impact on the return on investment.

    Although low running costs are one of the main advantages of modular construction, there are more benefits to choosing the technologies offered by Unihouse. Modular hotels can be expanded quickly. This means that the business is truly scalable - as guests arrive, additional rooms can be created. In this case, the extension does not stand out from the existing building - the whole looks aesthetically pleasing. Modular halls of residence can be extended in a similar way if the university plans to start up more courses.

    Modular hotels and dormitories versus traditional construction - other differences:

    • mobility - a modular hotel can be moved between different locations as a consequence of the use of lightweight modules;
    • natural materials - modular campuses and modular hotels are built using environmentally friendly materials (such as wood) and, in addition, production involves low CO2 emissions;
    • a favourable microclimate - this is a consequence of the use of natural materials, optimal room temperatures and efficient ventilation.

    • Ecology

      Wood is a natural, environmentally friendly material that favourably contributes to the thermal and acoustic performance of building envelopes (walls, ceilings, roof) and to the functional comfort of buildings, such as the microclimate and functional safety. The cumulative energy intensity of wood compares very favourably with concrete and steel.

      A major advantage of timber structures is their lightness, which contributes to a reduction in the dimensions of the structure, e.g. foundations, and their prefabrication, i.e. the factory manufacture of the components and transport to the construction site, and there rapid assembly. In addition, wooden buildings are easy to convert and modernise and are amenable to demolition and disposal.

      Prof. Dr. Eng. Czesław Miedziałowski

      Bialystok University of Technology

    • Certified quality

      During the design process, based on Sintef and ETA technical approvals, we implement solutions tailored to the needs of the project and the client. In order for production and construction to proceed quickly and to the highest standard, every detail must be developed carefully and well in advance.

    Duration and cost of building a modular hotel

    Constructing a hotel using traditional methods takes time - rooms may not be ready for use until up to three years after work has begun. How do modular hotels compare to this? The construction period is much shorter - a modular hotel can be up and running in as little as six months after placing an order. The reason for this is the construction technology - the modules are made in a factory and put together on site. This is another reason why, when planning to build a hotel, it is worth considering modular construction and working with Unihouse.

    For investors, it is not only the lead time that is important, but also the price. How does a modular hotel compare in this respect? The cost of construction is an individual issue - it depends on both the size of the building and its standard. However, the cost of erecting a modular building is competitive when quality is taken into account. Within the fixed amount, the investor receives modules with installations installed and fully equipped. Unihouse also takes care of the aesthetics of the hotels and dormitories on offer - when the individual modules are put together, an aesthetically pleasing and durable façade is made.

    The technology offered by Unihouse makes it possible to reduce construction time by half compared to traditional construction

    The technologies provided by UNIHOUSE are successfully used by investors for the purposes of establishing hotels, motels, catering outlets and service-related buildings. Modular buildings are practically predisposed to be used as cheap and economic motels.

    The primary advantage for investors in the case of these buildings is the short completion time of the projects. By moving the entire production process into the factory, the construction of a motel, with many rooms is only a matter of days. As single modules can be combined, it is possible to arrange rooms for a higher numbers of guests.

    In the case of the aforementioned arrangements, the rooms can be accessed from an external hallway running the length of the motel, which is a common solution for this type of building.

    Perfect thermal insulation means that electric radiators will suffice to keep the place warm. They can then be turned off when the guests are out of their rooms to help lower operating costs even further.
