Health and Ecological Modular Hospitals - Conference ‘The Role of Green Hospitals in Counteracting Climate Change’
On 11-12 June 2024, Kalisz hosted the 3rd International Conference ‘The Role of Green Hospitals in Counteracting Climate Change’, organised by the Provincial Specialist Complex of Health Care Institutions for Lung Diseases and Tuberculosis with the support of the Marshal's Office of the Wielkopolska Region.
Kamil Kowalczyk, board member of Unihouse and an expert in modular timber construction, during his presentation entitled. ‘Health and environmental values of timber-framed modular hospitals’, he discussed in detail how timber modules can contribute to improving patient health and protecting the environment.
The conference organisers emphasise that by promoting the idea of Green Hospitals, they aim to encourage those responsible for maintaining healthcare facilities to implement sustainable strategies. ‘Environmental education is also a form of preventive health care. Environmental protection has become a key element of public health, requiring health to be taken into account in various decisions, plans, policies and investments,’ - say the organisers.
